October 2025, I had the opportunity to attend a Chubb class in New Jersey, an experience that further solidified my passion and drive as a Private Client Account Manager. In addition to external learning opportunities, Blue Ridge consistently offers in-house CE classes, ensuring our licenses remain current while supporting our continued knowledge and success.

After graduating university, I had no idea how to get a job in insurance. Desperate for advice, my insurance professor put me in touch with the Chief Insurance and Acquisition Officer of the agency, Adam Dyer, who took 30 minutes out of his workday to tell me his story, offer advice, and field questions. At the end of the conversation, he told me about a position that I might be interested in, and I applied. Blue Ridge not only cares deeply about protecting the lives of our clients, but also about the employees. Since I began a little less than a year ago, I have found so many people who are enthusiastic about what they do, excited to help me learn and grow, and proud of what they are apart of. This agency has given me a meaningful career that fosters a deeper sense of purpose and pride in what I do. 

After my previous job ended, finding Blue Ridge felt like a blessing I didn’t even realize I needed. From the start, I was welcomed into an environment built on trust, support, and genuine care. Working with two amazing leaders who encourage independence while always being there when I need guidance has helped me grow both personally and professionally. I never imagined myself in the insurance industry, but here I am, over three years later, loving what I do and where I am. Starting out as an administrative assistant gave me the chance to learn about the company from the ground up and build a strong foundation for my position in the claims department. The encouragement, work‑life balance, and true sense of belonging I’ve found here are things I had been searching for a long time. Blue Ridge didn’t just give me a job—it gave me stability, purpose, and a work family I’m genuinely grateful for every day. 

Coming into Blue Ridge, I had no prior experience in insurance and was in the process of rebuilding my career. I joined the organization through a recommendation from Larry Wilt, and I have never once looked back. From day one, I was met with support, encouragement, and guidance. I quickly found my place within the Employee Benefits team, and I am grateful to be part of an organization that invests in its people.

Having no insurance experience and having spent my career working for tech companies, I was a bit hesitant coming into this role. The focus the leadership team is putting on digital initiatives and staying at the forefront of new technologies was intriguing and ultimately led to my decision to join the team. What we are building at Blue Ridge is truly something special and unique. It can be difficult to take an industry that has remained relatively undisturbed from technology and disrupt it, but we are doing it. Every day brings a different set of challenges and the chance to create something exciting. 

Insurance was not a direction I expected my career to take, but I'm glad I made the decision to join Blue Ridge.
